G63 2015 exhaust valve sticking

Picked up a G63 today which had the factory fitted option of the Brabus sports exhaust which you control via the steering wheel up/down buttons. They beep once when on loud mode and twice when you move to comfort. The issue is that there is no difference to the exhaust note whatsoever so I’m guessing the valves stuck or actuators not working.

Does anyone know if you can see the actuators moving if I got under the car or any other tips?

Might sound silly but, have you checked that your car hasn't been modified? I had the same problem on my new to me E63S, pressed the exhaust button, could hear the actuator clicking (when stationary) but no appreciable change in tone of the exhaust. It was only an MOT tester told me that the car had had both rear mufflers removed and was straight piped from the cat back. Slim chance I know but worth a look if you haven't already checked?

This story has a happy ending thankfully. Up on the bulkhead is a pressure valve and the hoses had dried up and snapped off. 2 min job to reconnect and all is working fine now
