Could well be shill bidding. At the end of the day if it has no reserve they are not about to let it go for vastly under what they want for it, so someone may be bidding it up for them. Same thing happened when I tried to buy a B5 RS4 and the owner tried to be clever by bidding against me, in the end he ended up taking a lot less than my original bid and I backed out altogether. Why don't they just put a realistic reserve on the car??
