Hi guys
I know this is probably a common question and have done some searching. But wanted to check again

I've just bought a very very nice 507 edition, and I know they sound great... but it does seem a little muted.. so if I just change the secondary De-cats (closest to the silencer) will that do the job?
I'm not looking for so much noise that I can't hear anything else, but just enough that I can enjoy the sweet V8 burble when cruising.
Will this change need a re-map? I'm assuming it won't as its not a full system? and I'm not looking for anymore power.. (been there, done that etc)

I know that essentially the de cats are just pipework, but any recommended brands that fit properly without any Mod's needed would be great, I've used Milltek in the past and always been happy.

any tips would be great.

cheers
LJV

Doesn't need a remap.

Milltek do pipes for it but it really is just a simple cut and replace with some pipes.

I've never heard a secondary decat in person but in all the videos I've seen it loses some of the AMG thunder and gains more volume/rasp.

You can also replace the secondary cats with an H or X pipe which softens the sound again, especially the X.

Just choose your next MOT station wisely. A 'picky' MOT place could fail it on the spot if ANY part of the exhaust is changed. My MOT guy says he has more important things to worry about and I am sure most of the others think the same :thumb:

I know the problems with it, thankfully I have a good one too

ta matey.
I'll do some further looking into it first, just don't want to waste cash on de cats if like you say, will add noise but lose the real noise that makes the car. It's one of the reasons I bought it. Thunder!

Get yourself on the C63 AMG UK group on Facebook and then ask for a ride in a car local to you with secondary decat. It's an active group with plenty of members.

good stuff,

cheers matey
