Hey all… am looking at a 2013 C63 507 edition saloon but I can’t see the LSD code 471 on the spec sheet…. The car is a Japanese import so wondering if out there it was standard on the 507… anyone have any ideas?
Thanks

LSD was not standard fitment on the 507, surprisingly. £1750 option iirc.

Thanks, That’s what I thought…. There were a few codes on the spec sheet I didn’t recognise so got me wondering.
Any thoughts on how it might affect future values? (Being without the diff or adding aftermarket)

A car with the diff will probably always be slightly more desireable than without, but given the relative rarity of the model for me it wouldn’t be a deal breaker

Any idea what this is;
Reinforced transmission ??

Also… spec says it has keyless go but I can’t see the start stop button… any idea why someone would have that removed??

There are owners not keen on KG for security reasons and remove the button and use a normal ignition key.
Maybe that's the case with the car in question?

Worth investing in a diff, I think it needs it if it's missing. Couple of good after market brands out there to choose from, its a very popular upgrade to have. 👍

I would imagine it being a Japanese import would affect the future value more than having or not having a LSD.
Of course being an import and not having an LSD would affect it even further.

Hi there,

Any after market additions would only devalue the car this includes diffs from the usual suspects.
However as others have said a Japanese import won’t really hold its value.
Why are you specifically looking at an import?

A diff for the c63 w204 is important imo. I’m a stickler for originality so for me I’d only buy the car if it had a factory fitted lsd.

I was actually asking for a mate… he was looking at the import because it’s a really clean car and although missing the diff a great high spec in the white he wanted… The 507s are quite rare still and seemingly holding some value so really he was looking for something to have some fun in that won’t dump tons of value quickly! It’s his 3rd C63 and he has a garage full of 6figure hyper cars (4) so he’s bought it now in either case!
Otherwise I agree with you mate… I’ve got a lovely 2012 facelift, with the lsd and power pack etc, and love it to death and fully intend to keep it as the factory intended 😁

import wont have the same value as a uk supplied version. Another point to note is the insurance maybe higher

Stil looking back on my phone of pics when mine was done, both drive seals I replaced both are the same part numbers , the other seal was for the front of the diff from the main drive shaft ( seal ring)

I have always been a fan of Quaife diffs until I had a Wavetrack in my previous RS3 which noticeably transformed getting the power down, especially off a launch.
