C63S coupe

Morning all,

New to the forums. Also soon to be new to Mercedes. I have owned various different cars in the past, but currently driving a golf GTD (out of necessity).
I have ordered a new C63S AMG coupe and was hoping for some feedback, since I have a couple of weeks until the options lock-out date to make any amendments. Build date is April with delivery second half of May (hopefully)

Spec I have gone with is this:
Selenite grey magno paint.
Night pack
Titanium forged wheels
Premium plus package
Open pore black ash and aluminium trim

I'd really appreciate any thoughts / suggestions at this stage, or pics from anyone who owns a similar spec.

I know the magno paint can be harder to keep. I'm going to get it treated. It can't be ceramic coated but the equivalent treatment for matte paint actually works out cheaper than lifeshine.

I toyed with the idea of the aerodynamic pack but I'm not convinced by it. I wouldn't mind all black wheels but that option isn't available and to me the thin pin strip around the black amg wheels just makes them look smaller.

I also wondered if anyone had any experience of spacers for the rear wheels? Personally I think the car has a good enough stance but some people have said it would look better with spacers. Does that affect warranty or insurance? (Obviously that would be an aftermarket thing)

congrats , excellent choice . definitely treat the paintwork. I recommend two more options, 360 camera is great and the HUD option is really useful too.

are you going for the standard seat colour ?

I agree those wheels with the thick silver lip look a bit iffy .

Yes sticking with black inside. There are only three options for the facelift s. Black (which has grey stripes at side bolsters of the performance seats) , black with red inserts or black with white inserts. Didn't really fancy the last two. Saw the red in a saloon and they just weren't to my taste. The cabin isn't dark though, thanks to the sunroof and ambient lighting it still looks quite bright.
I might be wrong but I think the 360 camera comes along with premium plus package for facelift? I'll need to double check. Will also give HUD some consideration.

Selenite grey magno paint - It can't be ceramic coated

I'm not sure where you got this info from, but that is incorrect.
I have Selenite grey mango paint and I have it ceramic coated. I have the front end covered in Paint Protection Film with the whole of the car ceramic coated. I've had it parked next to an untreated magno C63 coupe and there was no visual difference.
Here is the ceramic coating that was put on my paint PPF. As you can see in this thread others recommend Gtechniq and CQuartz, but I don't have any experience with these products.

I recommend two more options, 360 camera is great and the HUD option is really useful too.

I agree with these 2 optional extras, for the small charge they are great add-on's. 360° camera is a must for me, I find it very helpful. Although I have never ticked HUD in previous cars as I never thought I'd use it, now I have it I use it all of the time.

Been through the catalogue again and can't find 360 degree camera! Will have a chat with the dealer.
Yours is facelift edition 1?
What type of wheels? Would love to see some pics of it. I haven't seen many coupes in the magno grey

I have an E63s Ed1, the C63 coupe I compared the paint with wasn't mine.
It's not a great picture and you can't really use it as a comparison, but here it is anyway.

Nice spec.

Just had a quick look at the online configurator options and the 360 degree camera is part of the premium package.

I previously had HUD on another car and thought I would miss it but the Mercedes dash is a lot better and the facelift even more so, there were delays on cars with HUD when I was looking but this may no longer be a problem.

Personally I would go for the AMG carbon trim rather than the wood, it really adds a touch of quality to the cabin.

Have you actually got a build slot with a confirmed order? There’s a production shutdown in April and May, with Magno paint being restricted until June build. You’ll be very lucky get a car for May arrival

I’m a Mercedes salesman with an outstanding order for 1 in selenite grey magno and two in graphite grey magno [emoji23]

Allocation for April build hasn’t actually gone out yet, so it’s not actually possible for them to have a build slot for you yet, unless it is being built in March, which also isn’t possible because of paint restrictions [emoji23] it’s all very complicated, but the stock control manager for Isaac Agnew is great (if that’s who you’ve ordered though) so you’ll get one as soon as anyone

If you go with brilliant blue, you’ll get a March build car. Honestly, I think you’ll be waiting until June build for the grey. There’s only a very small amount of production in early April and still paint restrictions

FYI I cancelled my C63s order back in October 2018 because they could not confirm a delivery date with mango paint. At the time dealer/MB suggested April 2019. I was doubtful. Since then, I have been told April 2019 is not reliable and looking at the posts above my suspicion was right - it is getting pushed back still further. Hard to understand from a consumer perspective, but as I have picked up something else doesn't matter to me anymore.
