Can a 285/30 19" tyre be replaced by a 275/30 19" or 285/35 19" tyre, which would fit better, car is an SL350...

From the search it seem the 275/30/19 will be better but would there be a problem of it fitting onto the alloy wheel itself?

That doesn't seem correct, and besides was asking for downsizing from 285/30 to 275/30 and also if it will fit on the alloys properly?

You are best sticking to the Mercedes recommended wheel/tyre size, they will have been tested by Mercedes and given the oK to use on the car, if you go to a different size tyre on the same wheel, it would effect handling, you also have to consider what tyre pressure you would run at as its a different size tyre.
The Ins. company might not like it also. If you had an accident, they look for anything to get out of paying.

If you do change, you also need to make sure the fronts are 96Y and the rears are 98Y as this is the correct load rating for the car.

The 275/30 will be too shallow, the 285/35 will be too tall...you take it from here.

And what do you mean "seem correct"? Do you know how tyre sizing works?

sorry I'm no expert on it, but its only because you said 245/35 would be ok to replace the 285/30, thought it was a mistake in your thread No: 4
