I'm pulling some rear view camera wires through the W447 Vito and found this cylinder under the steering wheel inside the lower trim. What it is? It is just hanging on its harness at the moment, which is suboptimal. Where does it go and what is it?

On the C-Class if fits behind a round mesh hole in the dash just behind the steering wheel.

I'm guessing it has a fan to draw cabin air and monitor the temp. Mine just clicked back into place behind that vent hole mentioned.

As above . ^^^^^^^^^
I tried a few times and it did not click , but then I was not sure that it is from that place, that was before asking here.

I will try again, but before I break anything, is there a specific position of the sensor? A guide pin/guide rail or a mark of some sort?...
