Car cover

I use a Classic Additions cover and it's been flawless. Not the cheapest, but it's very breathable, weatherproof and doesn't leave a single mark 👍🏼

I bought a cover from Halfords for my SL. Its an outdoor cover but I use it mainly in the garage. Silver breathable exterior with a fleece liner. Does the job at a good price

Ideally you want a fitted cover (made for that specific make/model of car). Anything generic will move/flap around a bit in the wind, and unless both the car and the cover are clinically clean the paintwork will get abraded. I used a Covercraft one on my SL ... you can see a comparison chart of the different fabric options here:

I purchased a new one last November .As my old one was leaking .The old cover was used for 8 years before i had problems with it tthis year .So i went and purchased the same cover again . After 8 years it served me good .
The name of the car cover is a Monsoon It is a fully fitted water proof cover .Used only from November till March .For all year use you must buy a breathable car cover . Look for one with mirror pockets and if possible vents on the side to let air circulate . And under the cover are cotton sheets for extra protection .DSC06831.JPGDSC06825.JPG

Have a look at Coveryourcar.co.uk. They sell covers from Coverzone but seem to be better on price and the customer service is excellent, very good for advice too.

I have used their Monsoon and Stormforce covers on various cars. My only advice would be, avoid generic covers and also ensure anything you fit is on a completely clean car and secured really well. I've actually bought cover nets that hold the cover down onto the car. This prevents them ballooning in the wind or moving around.

I got my hands on one of these:

I didn't pay that price ( Love eBay ) but it was for my exact model and it fits perfectly..... Try eBay ?

Try Classic Additions if you want a fitted cover. One of my cars was used as a template so I had to visit their manufacturing facility and it was very impressive. They also manufacture covers for the very top-end motor manufacturers and motor racing teams. I won’t say who but if you guessed then you’d probably be right.

I was impressed that for Covercraft I had to specify whether my R129 SL had the rectangular door mirrors used up to 1998 or the later rounded ones. They apparently have over 80,000 different vehicle templates.

Alex225 Like the net . Its a good idea .Are the nets expensive ? And where did you purchase it from ?

I got that from Coveryoucar.co.uk as well. It helped massively in stopping the cover from ballooning. Literally didn't shift at all so combined with a breathable cover it was a great solution. :)

One thing to add about the Classic Additions covers, is that with straps front, centre and rear, mine never really balloons at all. It stays nice and secure.

Alex i have been on the web site but cant find those nets .Put every thing in the search but nothing found ,,,

Ping them an e-mail mate, their customer services is excellent. They'll quote you on a net they can bundle in with a cover. I had to ask for them and used one on my Twingo 133 and my CLS.

Alex i just need a net .Last night it was blooning very bad and lifted the coverr of the boot end exposing the cotton sheet under it .I will message them today any idea the price of these nets?

I use one of these, you can lower it so it’s just above the roof line. And you can add sides if you want. Its also useful if you want to work on the car as well, as you can see. Mines from Gala Tents and is the pro 40 from memory. The cover lasted about 4 years outside all weathers but actually cheap to replace, about £150. I haven’t bolted it to the floor yet but plan to at some point.
