Central Scotland - Where?

My 4 year old C250 needs a B service, Brake Fluid Change & the Panoramic Roof greasing.

My local dealers is Grangemouth.... £400. This is a crazy price.

I owned a VW Passat before and the dealers picked the car up, dropped it off and did a major service for £220. MB want extra for a car or collection service. In fact they want more if I wait! How is this supposed to keep me in the network? Will they update any software, doubt it. Recalls, doubt it.

I am a mechanical engineer, changing the oil and looking after my car is not an issue. A stamp would be nice but £400 seems crazy. I already did discs and pads all round myself with genuine MB parts.

Are there any specialists in the Central belt?

Thanks,it's not just about the cost. I would do a better job myself. If they are not going to update the software I'm not sure it's worth it.

I can drop oil, change a filter and full it back up. I currently am failing to see any added benefits to MB service.

With my Passat, I had electric rear calipers so paid £140 to have the rear pads changed to save any issues. 2 weeks later the caliper failed because they are junk. I bought a new caliper and the cable / software to program them. I wish something existed like that for NB.

I would however pay a reasonable price for a reasonable service, hence the request for any details of an independent in the central belt. To me, the job is £250.
