change GLE puddle lights from logo projection to normal puddle lights

Hello!

My mom recently upgraded from an ML to a GLE (on my recommendation) and found one night upon unlocking her lovely new automobile that instead of the normal puddle lights - the new GLE projects little Merc logos from the side mirrors... she hates this!

Please find attached a picture of the offending article (i would have also included a picture of the 'offended' article, but i don't think she'd be all that impressed with me...)

Does anybody know what i need to change this for her to normal lights and how to do it?

I think they just pop out and are replaced with a normal light. - Unfortunately I suspect that they replace the entire puddle lamp, rather than just the bulb, so you need to buy a new part.

Maybe have a look on eBay and see if it's easy enough to source a plain LED version instead. - It saves a visit to the parts counter at MB.

Had it been the puddle lamps in the bottom of the door, then I have a spare set in the garage. Not sure about the puddle lamps in the wing mirror. You main dealer will be able to tell you whether there is a non-projector part number available.

I recently changed the bulbs in my mirrors on my W204, I would imagine they are the same.
It was just normal wedge type bulbs

Most of these projectors are 4 quid jobbies off ebay etc. I think most are the same part with different projector "slides" inside them, it might be possible to prise apart and see if you can remove it...otherwise yes, it will be a replacement of the lamp housing.
