City Wheel refurbishment Birmingham

I've never seen their drop off area so quiet.
No the chrome isn't similar to diamond cut, just a more glitzy silver 'paint' finish. It certainly doesn't suit all vehicles.

I have considered a lighter grey finish, to disguise dirtying wheels some. But their grey options are a bit darker than I would prefer.

The place itself is very impressive and seeing some of the work on the wall the job looks to be superb! Will update when I have them back!

It's 1000 times more impressive than the place I just used - I took the car in and if I'd seen the place they were working on it beforehand I think I'd have driven away! I've also since heard they use an even more dodgy place to take the tyres off and refit them.

Paid £230 (inc dealing with the tyres) and the job looks 'OK'. I'd had them done a few years ago at a branch of The Wheel Specialist. It took them two attempts to do it, and the finish has deteriorated as if wasn't attached to the wheel properly - I had get them re-done as corrosion was casuing the tyres to lose pressure. They wanted nearly £400 to re-do them.

Did you drop the wheels off or did they keep the car?

At City Wheel Refurb for up to 18” alloys in standard powder coat including tyres fitting it would you £120 for all 4!

£180 if you wanted them to store the car for you, ‘hassle free’ service.

They kept the car. In theory they can do it same day but more convenient to me to leave it one afternoon, and pick it up a couple of days later. I regretted that when I saw where they kept it, but didn't know until afterwards (drop off was at one place, but they did the work elsewhere, and I picked the car up from there). It's really an industrial powder coat place, they seem to do wheels more as a side thing.

£180 would have been better than £230. :) I'll think about having a fun day out in Birmingham next time!

Very happy indeed...

^Chrome Effect Powdercoat

for a 19” Alloy this is £30 all in (£5 extra for chrome)

Opinions please guys :)

chrome effect powder-coat as in the post above^

or silver powdercoat (with ‘medium sparkle’) as below.... (silver costs £25 by the way for 19”, £20 for 18”... bargain!)

Ive used them for my BBS RC wheels on my old Anniversary.

They came out pretty damn perfect. They ONLY shot blast and powder coat, if there are any deep cuts in the wheels either they will charge more to do them or they will just powdercoat them as they are.

I would use them again, dropped the wheels with them and picked them up 4/5 days later.

That looks like a cracking job. I’d go silver sparkle

Most likely silver sparkle, but you can't really tell till they're on the car.
