CL 500 (W215) door electrics

Hi to all,
I'm having problems with the electrics in the drivers door. Everything stopped at the same time. No window controls,seat heating,mirror controls,seat controls and the door no longer does the auto close bit. Bloody window will not raise and seal when you close the door either. I've scanned the fuse location diagram and can't find a fuse that deals with door power. I'm reluctant to just pull it apart (not sure what i'll find !) and the rain has started. HELP PLEASE !!!

The wires in between the door and the chassy fail, I'm willing to bet this is your problem.

Take the black grommet thing off and inspect the wires near the door hinge.

Or alternatively go to the MB Projects section and look for "Haylands" cl500 thread. Haylands (MB club member) did a full DIY replacement if the wiring harness complete with photos.

Hi to All
Thanks for the help. Took the car to an indie in Plymouth today to get it looked at... Two hours and £100 later (you have NO idea as to how pleased I was the bill was so low....having had a whole weekend to mull over what may be wrong !!! ) Both the Main power and earth leads have been repaired and all is working . A known CL problem apparently. They did offer to get a new door loom ( £900) but suggested a certified fix.
