I have a 320 CDi but don't seem to have an option to have the oil checked electronically?

Does anybody know if this option is available?

It does on my CLK 270 CDi. If I remember rightly its in the menu that has the speed , outside temp etc in it. I always seems to stumble across it with the engine running and get a polite reminder that oil level can't be checked with the engine running.

Quelle Horreur! Does it have a dipstick? I really miss that on my car. :(

Yea I have a dipstick, I rang the dealership and they weren't sure either if i can check electronically.

But it saying that my dad has B170 and that has a dipstick and you can check it electronically????....Go figure....why they would take away the facility on the CLK?

Have a look in the cars manual. It explains it all in there.

Unfortunately the manual is kinda generic and doesn't do a great job in distinguishing between the different models...and which have which options....

The electronic thing can be a real pain anyway, its very sensitive at times... good old fashioned dipstick is the way forward IMO..

I agree. If the dash says "add 1 litre" always add 1/2 a litre otherwise it willbe over filled. They are shockingly inaccurate and shouldnt be relied upon.

A workshop dipstick is available from MB for those without traditional dipsticks. The dipstick has mm measurements on it. Its about £60+vat
