good morning everyone ,I have a small issue with the drive belt on my W208 CLK55, it snapped yesterday causing all the usually issues , no power steering etc etc , so I had a look around to check all the pulleys were moving freely, turns out one of them is pretty knackered , a grinding noise and a lot of tension in it , this is where I need your help please , as I'm not sure what the pulley is that I need , if looking at the engine from the top it's to the right and in the middle with a torx head coming out of it . I'll attach a photo to help, if you could all help me out a bit and advise what you think the pulley is , tensioner?, water pump? etc I'd be really appreactive . This is the only problem I've had in 4 years !!Cheers everyone

Likes like the Tensioner Pulley to me.

seems like you have the old style belt tensioner with metal pulley with a bolt poking out.

new style has a plastic pulley with a different bolt maybe it's called hex or allen, don't remember exactly?

did your belt come off and grind into front engine cover?

Hey kowalski, yeah itust be the older one I have , luckily it didn't grind into anything , the tensioner ceased up and the belt just came loose , I'll have to get it sorted this week, anybody know the rough Cost of the belt from the dealer? I've checked euro car parts etc but none available . Cheers for all your help everyone

Hi, worth trying your stealer, often reasonable for ancilliarys

original part from MB is Litens.
there are several brands available, I wudd only go with either brands INA, SKF and Litens and maybe TRW
