Hi all,
Just got my first Mercedes CLK and love it, my passenger door lock goods up down very quickly and sometime doesn’t unlock.
I think it’s the door lock actuator, it this easy to remove?
Thanks

Hi,
If the central locking pin on the effected door is "machine gunning" (rapidly going up/down when trying to lock) then this is nothing to do with the locking actuator but the door catch mechanism itself it is a failed or failing dampening spring.
Mercedes option is to replace the catch mechanism itself, but you can replace the spring on its own, I found it very difficult on my CLS and gave up replaced the entire mechanism.
Assuming your car is a 209 then have a look at these listing for the replacement spring, but my recommendation from my experience is to replace completely

Shouldn't have Nothing to do with battery, if we are talking about W209 model (again we see how iportant is give eough information at first place - W208 has vacuum operated system), broken spring 99% culprit. Spring change is easy, lock module in/out is more difficult. Did this to my W211.

Hi all,
Thanks for the reply’s, battery is new only a few weeks ago, though it was the spring, to remove and replace it do I have to drill out any rivets holding the actuator in the door?
Regards

BTY it’s a A209
