I searched the forums on here thoroughly looking for help with my 2008 CLK convertible but didn't find anything so I thought I would share my experience in the hope it helps anyone suffering the same problems
Although everything else seemed fine, I had the following occurring randomly:-
Driver's door mirror didn't fold out on opening
ABS / ESP inactive warning on starting, but error immediately cleared
Run flat warning randomly appearing
Command display blanking for a few seconds
Steering heavy for the first mile after starting
I was also getting a coolant warning when starting the car when still warm, but coolant levels fine
I was dreading the possibilities, ECU etc, and the cost. Before starting down the expensive path I thought I would replace the battery as it was on the car when I got it...and it solved every single problem. When I told a buddy with a CLK350 who had a weird "stalling" sensation when cornering at low speeds he thought it was worth checking it out and it sorted his issue too.
Hope this helps anyone with similar issues, hope I haven't repeated old news covered elsewhere!
