Just fitted a new Exide to my '07 CLS, only took a few minutes. Had to reprogrammed the windows, plus the folding door mirrors. The interior lighting is kaput tho! Used to come on when the ignition key was re.oved, obviously when the doors were opened too.....they don't any more. They work on the roof switches, but weirdly the 2 map-reading ones don't work at all. Tried fiddling about with the menus, but no joy.

Any ideas anybody please?

Things like that happening on modern cars is why I use a spare battery connected via jump leads to the system while I change one. On an ALFA Giulia it can be a pain to reset the steering and get the ABS and traction lights off without plugging in the computer without using that method.....which should not be required on such a simple thing as a battery swap. Modern cars eh???

Possibly because it was dark at the later time?

The interior lights are switched on by the light sensor… I had the same issue before, I thought my lights were gone haha.
