Ok, it's not on a Mercedes, it's an old Audi A3 1.8T, I've taken it in for a new clutch and their saying the flywheel is pretty knackered too, and it's a Dual Mass, on a petrol too!!, the cost of replacing both is as much as the car is worth, and to put it back together as is will cost me the same as just having the Clutch fitted so I've told them to put the new Clutch in anyway.
What will replacing the Clutch without the Dual Mass Flywheel make the car feel like?, from what I can gather people are saying the Clutch won't last as long but I'm only going to keep it until next year then scrap/sell it as spares anyway, is it likely to drive ok until then?.

Just have the DMFW skimmed no need for a new one unless it really is that knackered. Personally on this car I'd take the chance of not replacing the DMFW or skim it for around £40 to me its all another con to get us to buy parts we dont actually need

That is my thinking too, if it drives ok for the next year that's fine, plus I don't really do many Miles in it, it's just for going to the station, supermarket etc to not use the SL on really short trips.

It's a Kwik Fit type Clutch place so I would bet on patent parts not Audi ones.
