I now have fitted a comand system NTG2 on my face lift 04 C Class 27cdi aventgarde estate.

The system is working superb and really pleased.

It has a GREEN FAKRA connector on the back. Could you please advise me on how to get video DVD working as I have seen a kit for £158 that allows me to play DVD.

Please help.

Regards.

The green fakra is a video input. Normally needs to be enabled using STAR. The NTG2 itself cannot play dvds.

What do I need for this to work... Could you explain STAR.

I appreciate that there are many posts on this subject, but just cause me confusion.

Model A203 870 42 42 (option527) NTG2.... Comand APS DVD

You need a device that makes the COMAND think it has a TV tuner - the device connects to the fibre optic network to input sound and so the COMAND activates the video input

Google for Mercedes multimedia interface ..

Many thanks Richard,

So many opinions have just confused me. I will take your advice and contact yourselves after the weekend.

do you supply this piece of kit as the good lady would also like her Ipod to work.

Many thanks

Mark.

Have just looked ands looks good. Is it easy to fit or pay someone to do it ?.will one of the output be able to do the Ipod.

Sorry more questions,

regards

Hi
The phone kit is easy enough to fit but needs the steering wheel controls and head unit to be configured using Star Diagnosis... (which is the Mercedes diagnostic computer that main dealers have and some independants too)

Cheers

You have to use bluetooth audio streaming for the music (from the phone) There is no official Mercedes iPod kit for the NTG1 Audio 20 or Audio 50 (only for NTG1 COMAND (colour satnav)) as the devices don't have a simple AUX input.

As you've discovered this is a horrible area to get what you want because the functionality was designed in 2000/2001 before iPods got popular...
