Computer Going Mad

Hi folks

My computer seems to have a mind of its own.. Service A was up last week and I havnt had time to take it into the garage yet so its now exceeded service A by 500 miles... which was fine until earler on today its changed its mind and now saying .. Service A due in 400 Miles
I dont get it ? could someone please advice

Another thing i noticed out of the blue warning for the oil level came up saying add 1.0 L of engine oil and today it was saying 2.0 L which i have topped up surely that cant be right ? All of a sudden its lost 2L of oil? Oil has since been topped up semi syntatic and its now saying Oil OK

check your engine dipstick if you have one. Mercs dont like being overfilled with oil! If you have used it on a long journey recently I think thats enough to convince the computer that the car is normally used for distance motoring rather than short journeys so it "changes its mind" about when the oil needs changing. If it uses one of the resistive type oil sensors which measures the oil contamination directly then diluting the contaminated oil with fresh top up oil may also have cause a re-assessment of the oil condition. I'm afraid I dont know much about these "intelligent" engine monitoring systems but I do know Mercedes is alledgedly abandoning them on the latest models and reverting to the older fixed mileage system again. Its probably oil change/manual level check time ! how many miles since the last change?

topping up the oil increces the interval between services. A diesel will burn engine oil , ive got no explaination why its suddenly come up with this , but who knows.

the service interval is based on the oil. There is a sensor that looks through the oil to see how clear it is and if it can't see through it , it knows it needs changed. and thats it

i dont think theres a dipstick on this w203 i topped it up anyways not 2l tho its now saying oil ok
