for some time now I have had no heat from the heater assuming it was blocked I thought an investigation would be in order, I found the fan motor to be a bit dodgy so replaced it, but knew that this had nothing to do with heat comming into the heater martix, I think we all know of this nightmare job to replace the matrix so thought I would flush it out, reversed flush, rad flushers, acitic acid etc, re-assembled still the same , I am know thinking that instead of a matrix I had a block of sludge, so left it , I then had this idea (good or bad ) to use a wall paper steamer to flush the matrix and to my suprise with steamer running I had so much heat comming from my heater I could not keep my hand there, this got me thinking , this was so hot that should the windscreen have had a shower of snow on ice there would be a risk of the screen cracking, so is the water restricted somwhere, or the heat controlled some how as I am now of the opinion that there may not be enough water flow, I have checked all visible pipe work hose'es etc for blockage all ok, fitted new water pump & stat 5 months back. one thing I have noticed that the cooling on the car seems to be ultra efficient temp always just below mid point unless car is idel any advice welcome

Don't really know your car, but somewhere there should be a heater valve, see if you can find this. It will be in the pipe work to the matrix. Might be vacuum operated, switch from hot to cold on the heater see if the valve moves. You could always leave it open for the winter. Google your model and heater valve location. Hope this helps

Sounds like a duo valve fault, think they are mostly the same and is, in my experience which is limited, near the brake master cylinder. I guess if I have naused it up someone will be along to point it out.

same post as yesterday, getting mostly same answers.
