Corporation Street Manchester: The bollards that take no prisoners!1

:D LOL excellent !!!

Really stops them dead doesn't it !!

Wow, lets hope the dont bring those to a town near you.
I wonder what excuse my wife could use? OUCH:confused:

I honestly don't know if that's hilarious or dreadful:D Not very forgiving are they? I know the drivers shouldn't be trying to get through - but the damage and level of risk is a tad extreme I think.

Thats what im thinking at the moment.Did anyone see the van driver at the end whose passenger isn't wearing a seat belt? His head broke the windscreen

Should be wearing a seatbelt then ......

I do , i'm sure you do too ......

Who was it that said the most effective airbag would be a large sharp metal spike, in the middle of the steering wheel , wait and see how carefully people drive with one of them fitted .....

The airbag in the black 4x4 deployed, and matey gets out holding his noggin - probably hit it on the roof!

Both adults went straight back to the rear seats to check kids were OK....

A BMW 330Ci tried to tailgate a 462 Bus on a road near me with similar bollards. As he drove over them, they raised, pushing the rear of the car in the air...

Absolutely hilarious! :D

Wow that's fantastic! Surely that Starlet could have got round (the right-hand edge of the image).

Superb video! :D

A friend of mine said he saw a Starlet stuck on a Bollard in Manchester about a fortnight ago, I wonder if this is the same one? :)

Don't say, he would've offered to lift it off but was too weak due to p*****g himself laughing.

That was funny to watch but an example of where I would prefer cameras to be in place to prosecute drivers who enter the area when they shouldn't But then I guess that is one sure way you will never do it again.

Lesson learnt the hard way :D

its gone..:(
I see there is some problem with their website but I have recovered the file from my cache, it's 3.31 MB and now saved as a WMV file :)

Here is a link to the actual streaming file on their website:

http://www.manchestereveningnews.co.uk/video/playlistsbroadband/519.asx

If people continue to have problems then I could always upload the file somewhere.

We have loads of them here in Cambridge.

Not only do you get fined for doing it, you get done for damages to the council property, fined for blocking the bus lane, the cost of a recovery truck + crane (if needed) and you have to pay the costs from the Fire brigade for the clean up!

Dont risk it!

EDIT, the ones in Cambridge have caused a death! Well, may have had somthing to do with it...
