I tried to get out of our road in the snow this morning and slid off a roundabout crashing my wifes car into a very high kerb. It now has a triangle shaped front wheel. I must have knackered the suspension as well :( :o

Further report when I've had it looked at!

Time for some 17's on the Micra then? Hope all is well. You guys still have snow on the roads in Kent??!

Kids safe at home or with you?

Cheers Graham. Kids are at home and no one hurt but the car made a sickening noise when I hit the high kerb. The snows about 2inches deep here which is the most weve had for decades.

Sorry to hear that, glad you are Ok.

yikes , sorry to hear that . glad everyone is ok.

time for a 4x4 more like than 17" wheels.

Glad you're all OK R2. Have you checked for suspension damage yet?

I expect you'll now be looking for a replacement steel/wheel trim or alloy wheel? :(

a friend of mine hit a large rock with one of the wheels of his micra, ended up needing a new front sub-frame or something and the bumper was badly damaged.

Total bill was £900 (didn't claim on the insurance) but the steel wheel was £8, the trim was about £5 and they put the old tyre back on it again (no damage) for free :)

Ouch.

Sorry to hear this Greg. :(

Hope everybody is OK and that the damage is not too expensive.

At least it wasn't one of your Mirzam alloys! ;)

Will

Thanks everybody! This is the first accident I've ever had that has been my fault:(
Steve's just come over to see it and reckons it will need a new lower wishbone/ball joint, wheel and tyre.

Anyone know of a Nissan parts counter on today?

Sorry to hear your misfortune Greg. Hope it doesn't hit the wallet too hard :(

I'm not sure what will hurt most Pammy, the repair or the Moulton Brown sorry present;)

Whose side are you on Pammy!

Hi R2D2, sorry to hear about your crash, thank god no one is hurt and not involved with another party, you don't need the hassle for the first crash.Did a google search and found a company for parts, just hope its useful, here goes - www.japarts.co.uk -
tel;020 8732 7236. - all the best.

Bad luck Greg and glad to hear that you are all OK - cars can be fixed a lot easier than bones

Andy

btw, Annie says whilst you are on a roll do you want to borrow her Mazda for a few days? :D

Thanks guys, and thanks Topmercs for the link. I have taken it to the dealer who has said (I havent paid yet) that if I let them do the tyre fitting tracking and wishbone they will do it seriously cheap and seriously quick. Both those promises could earn me some much needed brownie points! I drove it very slowly to the garage about 3 miles away and it felt awful, the steering was shaking dreadfully:( Lets hope its just the lower wishbone not anything else.
