I used this outfit to order up some new memory to take my dell inspiron 1300 from 256mb to 2gb. Can't comment on prices but they have a nifty download program which analyses your memory and automatically gives you ordering options in your browser which can be plonked into the shopping cart and paid for. I had a slight issue with the cc transaction but their support checked I hadn't been charged twice and emailed me back within 12 hours. I ordered 10.30pm sunday and stuff arrived today tuesday. Install was a doddle and one happy bunny typing away. Recommended.

I used them following a recommendation - very happy :thumb:.
 
I've used Crucial personally, and we use them at work too. Never had anything but first-class service and a faultless product :thumb:
 
I started using Crucial in the late 90's and have never had a duffer from them yet.

Their online tool for which memory is great as well.

You can sometimes better their pricing from other suppliers vs. their online stuff but certainly not always.

Same here.

They've been pretty good for unusual memory types for legacy servers over the years.
 
If you buy from Crucial buy via quidco 7% cashback and sometimes vouches codes for further discount listed too.
 
I tried two lots of memory from my local computer store, neither were recognised by the machine, Crucials online system analysed my machine, ordered, sent promptly plugged in worked first time.
 
I use them regularly, have even messed up and ordered the wrong memory and had no problems returning it. Failure on their behalf is rare and quickly remedied too.
 
Yep Crucial or Kingston memory will always do the job, never buy OEM memory, it all comes from the same factory with different stickers on it.
 
They are not the cheapest but have a fantastic warranty-and are generally very reliable-(had to return a ballistix ddr2 pair) -otherwise good:thumb:
 
Thumbs up from me also, great little download tool and service was excellent.
 
Yep - I used them too. Recommended by the guys at 2 different Apple stores to upgrade my Mac. Problem free, easy to deal with - recommended.
 
We upgraded are minimum standard for laptops in our company to 16Gb, all crucial... many manufacturers rebrand their memory and resell it... Qualitywise it's good...

Question is - 256mb of RAM?! WOW!
 
I remember being faced with this issue early last decade after taking over responsibility for 600 workstations - my predecessors not really thinking about future proofing and facing computers with 256MB RAM which, unsurprisingly, ran like ****.

I can remember specifying new computers then with a minimum of 2GB RAM and people asking if it was really necessary.

Well yes, if you don't want to be spending further money upgrading the memory down the line which I've had to do since on under-spec'd workstations.
