Im just thinking of ways to improve the looks of my car without spending much money on it at all. I need to sort out the rust first but after that Ive come up with a couple of ideas myself, let me know if u have any others.

Paint they grey plastic grille in black, make the chrome stand out more and make it a bit moodier.

Debadge the back, I think the numbers and the mercedes sign is just stuck on so it should (I think) just be a case of carefully removing them, clean, possibly T-cut, and polish.

Im also wondering if the coloured bumper inserts would look better in the same colour as the rest of the car, right now theyre a bit lighter blue than the car itself.

Anyone got any good ideas? or have you done anything that costs next to nothing but looks good? I posted this in the bodywork section because thats what the ideas Ive had are about, but if you have any interior or performance ideas that cost peanuts, let us know :)

Could spray the grille black or opt for the avantgarde grill which is glossy and much more modern.

Debadging the back is good, I debadged mine as someone had already done so but replaced c230 Kompressor with ///AMG and it's not one of them so I left the mercedes star on my boot, I can't remember if it's glued on or with pins? Possibly glued on a w202.

Post a pic of your car as it is now so we can think of ideas.

Another cheap but effective mod is brand new number plates, clean and smart looking, I tend to stick them on rather than with screws to give it a fresher look, really does smarten the front or rear end up a treat. :)

Boot star is pinned.

Painted Calipers?

Sport models had the door/bumper trim strips matching the body colour - much better IMHO.

I'll post a pic after I tidy it up a bit, right now I only have a very bad phone picture of it.

Painter calipers is a good idea yeah, wouldnt make sense for me because my alloys cover most of the brakes so you realy wouldnt see it anyway, would work on a more open wheel design though.

i have a red c180 and painted the claipers red!
i also did the grill black and painted the mercedes front and back mb stars gold
i havnt yet removed the number off the back but might try it! i have to admit the gold looks alot better on my white Kompressor.
another thing i did was the dtm wiper mod! i set mine to sit 45 degrees on passinger side! all look realy good from my point of view!

My advice wash it polish it and keep it like god intended,

good luck with whatever you decide

Clean and paint the back of the wheel rims (the round bit not the face) makes a surprising differnce especially if you are painting the brake callipers a strong colour.

Small leds on the brake calipers can look good too depending on the wheel design.

another thing i decided to do one day at work was to rip the exhaust off,cut all the silencers out replace them with straight pipe! and an aftermarket back box which looks quite nice and sounds great
