hi. I have 2003 r230 sl which I would like to update to use a digital radio.i would like to have sat nav and memory card/stick.i don't want to spend thousands updating to a Mercedes one, if the steering wheel volume control works that's all I need. can anyone recommend one that would fit the dash and would it be a nightmare to fit?

There is no fascia adapter, you have to use the 2005 one and cut the dash-trim above the ash-trays.
If you have BOSE, you have to add an amp that is capable of driving a 2 ohm load (goes under compartment with CD changer), and get wiring from there to the battery and to the front.
Yes you can get steering wheel control interfaces to work, but SLs are a bit odd in that department as protocols changed at the model year 2004 facelift.
