For anyone wanting to pay a reasonable price for servicing by an MB dealer, try Autoterminus in Brugge, Belgium (also in Ostend), 80 km (1hr) from the tunnel (cheapest cost is £15 each way). Unlike France most Belgians speak English as a second language. They are very helpful. Cost for my C180K 40,000m "B" service was £221. And you won't get get any silly mid afternoon phonecalls from them asking if they can change your brake fluid/antifreeze etc etc. They simply do not do this sort of work unless it is really needed.
MB.UK dealer quote was £495 base price.

Copy and paste this address into your browser and be enlightened !! http://www.autoterminus.be/pages/home.asp?cat=1

Bonkers, isn't it - with all the social costs that employers have to pay in Belgium (and France and Germany) how can the prices we pay in the UK possibly be justified? And I notice the dealer mentioned is no less of a 'glass palace' than the dealers here.
You can tell how much servicing really costs from the fixed price multi-year deals that BMW do now - it's about time MB did this too. They're going to have to do something if the want to get their volumes up, especially on the lower priced cars like A and B class.

Mercs Only

Hi guys,

There are a couple of people in the UK that can give reasonable serivice costs without damaging the warranty. I get my w220 serviced at this place called "Mercs Only" its down in west London in a converted warehouse - quite a good place (B Service from £99). Their number is 020 8606 9333

regards

B from £99!!!!! - why are MB BOLTON wanting £385.00????? on a 2004 A class! Would be worth booking it in with them and spending the savings on a weekend/theatre trip etc in the smoke!

Does any body know of similar in Manchester area??

missing something

What do you get for £99? Are you not missing the point of a service. I expect work to be done at a service. You could bearly afford the oil and a filter for my w208 clk for £99. A good specialist is the way forward. Gain a trust in them and get the work done on your car that is needed.
