Delivery delay - Export Hold

My new GLA 250e was due for delivery last week but did not turn up. Today I am being told all new Mercedes are being held at port due to Brexit Export hold and there will be a long delay before more paperwork is done.

anybody now what this is all about?

The pandemic has understandably caused such delays.

Our new Discovery was delayed by about a month.

Slightly different Kianok , the pandemic has had an effect on most things , your car was built in the UK and JLR did have problems with the supply of microchips which may have caused the delay. The OP's car is built in Germany and the delay could also be part of the recent worldwide component shortages but is more likely to be related to the EU/UK 'discussions' relating to import and export.

Have a thought for all the people in Northern Ireland who are about to run out of sausages and cold meats....the horror.

What model have you ordered? I have been trawling through Carwow for a couple of Months and using Higher Spec/Models they all come back with lower Specs available, none in my Area or no Offers at all!

I did a factory order of a Premium Plus back in March. Dealer assures me the car is in the Country but Mercedes cannot get it or any other cars released from the Port.

Yes , good point well made jimbg. I had completely forgotten about that ! despite spending all day in a brand new Disco this Friday with a mate of mine . He loves it. I liked it because he was driving meant I could drink .

Now you mention it his was delayed as well .

Thanks for that, I specced the GLA 250e Auto Exclusive Editiod again this morning, none offered, but plenty to Lease on a 4 Year Deal, I'm beginning to think Sales are not happening anymore, just "Rent a Car"

I'm facing the same issue. I bagged a pretty good deal as I was told the GLA 250e in premium plus was arriving at the end of May, however I'm now told its stuck in Germany on an export block with no further ETA. I find it hard to believe the cars are just sat there for this long, given the fact that we left the EU some time ago. There doesn't seem to be any stock of the Premium Plus but there are is ample stock on the entry model. Which dealer did you buy from?

There is sadly no update to the export block imposed on the vehicle. It is due to arrive on our site on 20/02/2022
