Just replaced brake shoes, brake pads without using an OBD reader, do I need one to clear the errors and reset the parameters on my electronic hand brake and bake pads, also my ABS light is always on, looking at a LAUNCH OBD, any recommendations please

I've got the youcanic one which works well and is an American product with free updates for life. I've also got the launch x431 pro3s +5 which also works well. Both have live data. I use them on a 2016 X253 GLC250D. I actually bought the Launch one as it does coding of the various modules if you need to replace anything, and I was also hoping to code out the auto start/stop but no such luck so far. If I find you how to do it I'll stick it on the forum.

Thanks to all those with your suggestions, I will definitely go for the Launch model as it seems to have all the setting one needs to recalibrate.

As you've found out, it is not possible to do SYI coding on MB cars (unless you have STAR).

I believe that STAR will allow Stop/Start coding to change from 'On with engine start' to 'Remember last', at least on some models.

But you should be able to by-pass the stop-start function by switching off the ECO mode?

Yes, each time you start the car, just like putting on your seat beat, you have to press the ECO button. After a while, it becomes second nature. If you forget, after the first stop-start, you will remember.:)
