Living in south western France the availability of premium diesel is just about restricted to the toll roads, and my nearest is miles away. I am therefore restricted to the basic gazole available everywhere.
Is there a ‘Mercedes acceptable’ diesel additive I can use to bring the basic up to something like premium grade? Thanks.

2-EHN 1ml per litre

I question whats in millers ecomax that makes it a brown colour as the ebay 2ehn is clear. Ive used both for years and now use the 5 ltr from ebay as its half the cost.

What's the active chemical ?

Gazwould ( while you are here, as it were :) ) With my last car an Audi A6 1.9 TDI, I added 2T to each fill, and it cured it from going into limp Mode, but so far, I have not used it in my 2010 E Class CDI, but that could be about to change because in the new year, it's due it's NCT ( MOT ) so I will start to add a few Mls of 2T between now and test date....just in case !!!
On a slightly different ( but similar lubrication issue ) sublect, I seem to remember a post of your's where you recommended that Castrol Edge Titanium 5w-30 was even better than the MB 229.51 ? ( apologies if I am mistaken )

No idea chap.
Theres nothing in there that's not already in fuel. It basically equalises and stabilises the carbon chain which enables the oxygen in the air to attach and burn the carbon chain resulting in a more complete combustion.

Not saying it doesn't work because there are many positive reviews , but it sounds like 'snake oil' because of lack of info .

Redex - contains Petroleum .

Redex - diesel booster , contains Petroleum.

Millers Diesel Ecomax and alike contains
2-EHN a bonified Cetane booster as does the fuel company suppliers .
