Over the weekend when the computer on my C220 cdi said to check the oil level, I was on a trip away from civilisation. A call to the dealer revealed that they use Castrol Diesel TXT fully synthetic 5/30. I couldn't find this and used a litre of Shell Helix fully synthetic 10/40 to top up.
Is this OK or should I change the oil now and use the castrol?
Car has about 8,000 miles till the next service.
