Diesel Particulate Filter

Hi folks, I have a 2005 W220 S320 CDI with the OM648 engine. How do I know if it has a DPF or not?
I hear lots of “it might haves” but how can I tell definitively?
It has a black plastic engine cover not a silver one in case that’s significant.

Well a quick way bit not always fool proof is to check the end of your exhaust if it is clean then you have a DPF if sooty then no,or you can put your vin into mercedes site and look for 474 if that is on your build sheet then you have a DPF.
