Can’t help with your particular car , but dipsticks are being slowly phased out on newer cars

Drives me nuts that my CLK doesn't have a dipstick, they've had to add a level sensor so it's not even cheaper, WHY ?

I've got those, but neither has a dipstick. Do you have one, and do you know the correct measurements ?

The yellow cap is my oil dipstick . The atf tube doesn’t have one in it , i just bought one from eBay for a few quid . Just search 722.6 dipstick , I only use it when I change or check the atf level , you can’t leave it in .

No dip stick on S213 now. I must be old fashioned as I like to check my oil level before driving off - on vacation (when we get back to them) before someone asks if I do that to go the shops!

Why don't cars just cut out the driver as well? Or is that next year's model???

My 2006 M113 V8 has both dipstick tubes but no dipstick (available to but cheaply on line) but it has engine oil level sensing, I too agree that not having an actual dipstick is a bit daft but it's how they were 'rolling' even back then.

I have seen people buy the long dipstick online then cut it to suit the tube and leave it in place . Bri , you might think not having a dipstick is a bit dopey my V8 does not even monitor its own oil pressure . The first inkling you get that your M113 V8 engine is low on oil pressure is when it blows up. I know it's April the first but I am not making that up.

Hi , my E400 does have a dip stick. The only issue is that the engine oil is so thin and clean it is difficult to read the dip stick even after a couple of thousand miles.

I tried the paper towel trick but no good.

Any other ideas , my eye site is fine
