Do I need a radio code before I replace battery ?

I have a 2010 E350 CDI (C207) It has the factory fitted satnav and radio with a CD player. It also has the Command system. It looks like I need to replace the main battery. I didn't get an owners handbook or anything like that when I bought the car, so my question is whether the car will require a radio code or some anti-theft code when the new battery is installed ? thanks

I had a Bosch AGM battery fitted by Milestones Garage in Felpham recently. Didn’t need coding on C250d But I don’t know about your car. I paid £210. There are cheaper but I wanted Bosch

No old style anti-theft code on the radio. The head unit is secured to the vehicle VIN, a simple thief cannot make use of the radio as it does not work on another car (professional hackers can handle these but not ordinary drug addicts who would steal them).

The only thing you will need to do is reset the electric windows, you may find they will not work for "one touch", all you have to do is power the window up and continue holding the switch up for a few seconds more.
