C220 Coupe
Hi all, hope you can help.

Occasionally, and frequently my drivers door on my 2012 (W204) C220i Coupe will not open when unlocked. The handles have no resistance. To remedy this to get out i have to repeatedly lock and unlock the car until it works. From the outside i just have to press the unlock button, sometimes repeatedly to gain access.

The car locks and unlocks (door buttons go up and down etc) normally.

Many thank

Its a long time since your post but I haven't been here for ages. I had the same with my C220 W204 2012. Did the same as you, then purely as a whim reset my key so that 1 press just opens the drivers door and fuel cap lid, 2nd press opens all doors. It worked and hasn't missed a beat since, another thing to try is turn off auto locking on settings menu. It seems this is a common issue

Good Luck

Alan

I have this issue on my drivers door too....2011 S204

Door pin goes up but door does not unlock.

This pretty much happens every time I to go to the car now in the morning or after work. Often I have to get the emergency key out and manually unlock it as multiple presses do not do the trick.

Only twice it has failed to unlock after driving and coming to a stop. Very embarrassing not being able to get out of the car, and probably dangerous!

Weird it happens almost every time after being being parked, but only twice when in the car.

The door pin goes up so something is being actuated, so I don't thing the actuator has failed.

I will try changing the settings as Plopy says and report back.
