On my 99 E300 Classic I've got no speakers in the doors.

There appears to be a space where they could go but I need to get the door pocket off. Does anybody know if its possible to get just the door pocket off without having to take the entire door panel off, and if so , how?

If I have to take the whole panel off, how do I do that. On previous cars there have been all manner of hidden screws and clips which if you don't know about, makes life very awkward!

Any help appreciated.

All door trim fixings are designed by Imps of Satan to further anger and depress mankind.

What really does help though is a proper trim removal tool. Also a small bright torch and a dental mirror or similar to explore with.

Good luck.

youre local window tint company might be able to offer you tips and tricks.

Probably very similar to the C-Class. There are 4 main fixing points, 2 screws behind the grab handle trim that is a real pig to pull off, 1 small screw holding the plastic trim around the door lock mechanism, the other is behind the SRS badge.

Once these are removed the door can be carefully unclipped, there are clips all around the edge. Best to use a special tool or a fork will do the job. The panel should then lift upwards out of some more clips along the window and over the lock knob. Be careful because the door handle cable will still be attached.

The short answer is no.... the door pockets are held on at the back with screws :(
