Does anyone know where to source CARAT Duchatalet spare parts for 1992 MB E300 24v somewhere in the UK?
Specifically - the "driving lights" under the front bumper.

I've got a complete W201 Carat Duchatelet body lit which has the fog lights. I think they're the same.

You could buy it, nick the lights from it & flog the rest off! Problem solved.

Hi mate
How much do you want for the body kit? What colour is it?

Cheers

It's blue black, paint code 199.

£250 cash on collection from near Reading.

If you're still looking for lights, I have a solution.

My driving lights for my 124 Carat front bumper had deteriorated and required replacing. I contacted Carat Duchatelet, who simply didn't want to know.

So I dismantled one of the lights to find a maker and part number.
I then contacted Hella, who made the sealed-unit lights.
The chap I dealt with couldn't have been more helpful. Over the course of a week, he researched my light. He came back to me saying the lights hadn't been made in well over 10 years, with their last application being to buses and coaches! :o The modern equivalent version of these lights were slightly larger (and so wouldn't fit the bumper's light apperture), and they cost £120 each!
So the chap suggested I send him a light, and he could attempt to match it. He came back with a light from a tractor which would fit, and came in it at around £60 for a pair, IIRC. Also the glass is available seperately, unlike my, then, existing lights, or the larger modern equivalent! BARGIN!
The only thing I had to do was to mount the lights upside down and have a modified bracket made up.

This research was also done for no extra fee at all, which really surprised me, considering the time spent!

If you like, I can dig out the part numbers. Just let me know :thumb:

Bargain? Hmmmm...

You could buy my entire kit WITH genuine correct sized lights for the price of the two (wrong sized) Hella replacement lights.

Now that's a bargain!

I did buy a complete 124 coupe spare kit with original lights for a little over £200 delivered from Germany :thumb:
Cheap to buy 2nd hand, these kit!

I've often found cars for sale with Carat kits where people simply don't know what they are!

Think of me chaps, I need the nearside rear fender lower panel, the one which replaces the sacco board between the wheelarch and the bumper, on my Carat bodykit which I sadly lost on the M3.

No, sorry. It's pretty rare to find a complete kit.

I'm in no rush to sell it & reckon I'll get my price. I've haven't even advertised it yet, apart from mentioning it here.
