Sleeping Beauties

I love those prints of the old motors stored in the barn from the "Sleeping Beauties" collection, & purchased 3 of the collection in 1987 & they still have pride of place on the dining room wall

Come on guys, this isn't funny anymore. I like the 'Barn find' section of Classic Car magazine as much as the next man but lets not take it too far hey.

I know its not exactly a super classic but my father in law has had his old Stag sitting in his garage for 15 years and I can't get to it because his Dad's (who died in 1991!!) Sierra 2.0 Ghia is rotting away infront of the garage door. Its the Cypriot blood line which renders my father-in-law unable to ever sell a car. He still owns every car his owned since 1978!

Looking at those old wrecks does take me back to when I did the RR, and every nut and bolt taken off, on a RR diff there can be more than 300 nuts and bolts all split pinned with the end folded into the castle of the nut.

10,000 tin tacks on the body, I used to take out 200 a day before breakfast, never again, well saying that I have not got that many years left, so I am safe
Out of 3000 made 2000 still exist, as they breaker would not touch them as they were too hard to take to bits

would love to see a gullwing in my drive one day they are a awesome car arent they, look so sexy, i saw one at MB coventry about 10 yrs ago they look so good wouldnt belive that they are worth over £200k-£300k in good condintion

What type of Daimler Convertible is that ? The one in the bushes.

Just had another look on that site.
Even more 300SLs.
Plus the Shah of Iran's neglected Bizzarini.

That thread has now grown to 17 pages and sadly there seem to be a couple more 300SLs on there.

And those Muiras:eek:
