Hi all
I have Mercedes e300 2012 model
How can I enable DVD player while driving ????

I want it for the passenger

Maybe the passenger should sit in the back?

Anywhere where it can be seen by the driver is a no no. :fail

What a great idea. I wonder why Mercedes didn't think of that.

Kenwood system in my L200 has DVD enabled when handbrake on.
Trouble is, with handbrake off the ability to make calls via the head set is also disabled with the dvd.
On occasion I would like to make calls on the move. Bizarrely this can be done from the phone which will then route the call through the Kenwood.

The handbrake wire normally just wants earthing to bypass this

Did I see a Range Rover system once where the passenger could view the screen but the driver couldnt? The screen had a filter that allowed the driver to see sat nav etc, but the passenger could see a dvd on the same screen...?? Or am I making this up!?!?

Yes this is how the DVD in motion is set up on Range Rovers.

Split-view I think it's called. Doesn't the S class have similar?

Yep the new S Class has this feature, from the drivers perspective its navigation from the passenger side they can watch TV/DVD with headphones i'm assuming :dk:

But in addition to enabling phone (which would be good) it would enable dvd in motion which I understand is illegal - invalidates insurance:eek:

No real solution unless you fit a switch to turn 'handbrake' on and off as needed

Don't use it but noticed mine plays fine when I'm driving. I thought it was odd. Just had a dvd in the auto-changer and selected that number.
