hi l need to activate dyno mode on my 639 vito with multi function steering wheel. impossible to drive onto my current building sites without asr kicking in and getting bogged. Other makes of vans dont seem to have a problem not even a 638 maybe because of engine weight .any help please.. or can it only be activated by a mb plug in? Tired of leaving van at gate walking with tools to site.

No idea about dyno mode, sorry.

The 639 is RWD, unlike the 638 and most other vans which are FWD. Do you not have much weight in the back? Does the ASR Off button not help at all?

Have to say ours is not bad, I had to do a 3-point turn on a narrow and flooded farm track a year or two ago and it got well bogged down but I was still able to drive it out after a bit of fwd/reverse 'rocking'. Was sliding from side to side all the way back (about 50 metres) but it kept going. That was on the factory Contis with nothing in the back but our dogs :dk:

I didn't even use the ASR Off button, but I guess your problem is dry/soft surfaces where it maybe sinks in deeper?

Hi ya, you can access dyno mode through the onboard menu i seem to remember. If you enter service mode on the dash it comes up but beware it disables the abs aswell. I remember it was difficult to get into the service menu and no i can't remember how i did it now.

on the w211 you turn the key into pos1 then whilst cluster is showing mph\temp function press the cluster rest button 3 times quickly, thenyou will be presented with the menu which you scroll through and switch dynometer test on with.

may or may not be the same on the vito

good luck!

Just put some different tyres on the back, like BFG off road.
What size are your tyres on the back now?

thanks for feedback tried a few different ways to get into dyno mode l have other benzs and no problem getting in. but this dash wont let me in . l am currently running deeper pattern tyres instead of the originals a little better but no change .l carry around 500kg on the back and asr switch does not help. l believe the only chance of getting free is to spin my way out. lf l get a bit of momentum l should be right but the asr puts a stop to that..
