Friend of mine has 1997 e230, when he starts the engine sometimes it wants to cut out, almost like its on two cyls then three then four, then its ok after that doesnt happen all the time, could be hot or cold no misfire at all when driving, problem only happens off the key, anybody had this?the first thing im going to look at is carbon build up on throttle body, then the usual ht leads and so on. ::

I would start with plugs and leads from German Swedish and French, I have the same car, plugs and leads where about £30 and they deliver to your door,

I thought that if it where plugs and leads, maybe he would have a misfire when engine under load, but this is not the case, it is difficult to test those items but i will start there , thanks for reply.

I wouldn't buy another set of leads from GSF, having replace mine recently with a genuine set after a set of GSF leads let me down after just over a year .......
