Hi All

I have today placed an order for the above and have been told by the dealer that the injector problem was only on the 220 and 250 but that this was resolved as mercedes had bought out the supplier and were now making the injectors themselves.

I take delivery in just over a week and am now concerned that there are still ongoing issues

Has anyone bought one of these since X mas if so do they have any problems? Also what sort of economy cab I expect in the real world off a manual gearbox

Thanks:bannana:

Hi and welcome.

See the injector recall thread

If car is ok for first few thousand miles MPG will not be that great, diesels need a lot of time to bed in and dont really loosen up until about 40k miles.

On a gentle run with a manual you will easily break 50mpg, maybe get close to 60mpg.

Around town from teens to early 30's mixed driving I'd hope for mid 40s but bear in mind a new engine may not be so good.

Hello and welcome

No idea on the injector issues, would like to think all new cars now are sorted?

Manual gearbox please explain?? you mean you have a clutch...... :)

My dads 'old' shape E320Cdi Estate does 40mpg on any trip it does and more like 45 to 50mpg. Its odd sometimes as the smaller engines are not always better on fuel.

I would like to think you will get low 40mpg on almost any journey thats a desent run, being new it will be worse and get better as it losens up.

enjoy the car and post some pics when you can.
