2009 E Class Coupe E350 CDI sport
DRL's turned ON via steering wheel menu
Light switch on AUTO
So ...DRLS are brightly lit in daytime
DRL's go out completely when main lights go on

All other E classes seem to have DRL's on ( albeit dimmer) when main lights are on

Any thoughts ?

Nick

All of the coupes that I have seen have both the LEDs and headlights on at night. It must be a setting somewhere.

Mmmm beats me, I had the same problem but it turned out my lights were set to the fog position all the way to the right and pulled out 1 click.

The only other thing I think it could be is if your car is set to a country whereby DRL's are illegal?
Phone the dealer?

I thought the idea of Daytime Running Lights was they were meant to go out when the headlights are switched on.

Dealer is scratching head at the mo

googling around ...i have found that it could be perhaps be something to do with a software option code (K22) foreign market option where drls are not allowed, the configuration of the light sensor behind the rear view mirror, light switch malfunction (ie thinks fogs are on )

I guess i'll have to wait to see what the dealer hears back from MB tech
