Hi , I would like to change my radio screen from my 2009 w212 E class with a second hand used navigation screen. did anyone do that? I called a company that deals with this and asked for 300 pounds which I find very much considering that I pay £ 60 for the second hand navigation screen

Retrofitting COMAND (Navigation, Telephone etc.) is no small job. Fitting a replacement unit is easy, but wiring it up, providing new harness fittings, ripping out all the trim panels etc etc is complex and takes a lot of time and know how. I would have thought £300 to retrofit COMAND would be quite cheap.
If it is just Navigation you want then a stand alone Tom Tom or Garmin unit would be an easier option for you.

ADD.... and welcome to the forum BTW

This post would be better served in the electronics section

First I want to thank you for the answer. My radio screen has a dead pixel and I said that if I change it to change it with a navigation one, I thought it is just as simple. Thank you again

comand uses fibre optic cables. its not your usual radio / cd player .

Eduard,

You have to change it to the same size screen (i.e replace it) - the standard Audio-20 in the E class W212 can not support the larger screen from the COMAND.

If you changed from Audio-20 to COMAND you need to change the screen, stereo, add the FAN system, update the car's datacard with Mercedes and configure the COMAND, possibly installing a map and possibly updating the firmware. Its a good few hours of specialist work with equipment that costs a lot to buy/licence (i.e genuine Star Diagnosis)

Cheers

Richard
