E10 or E5 in 2005 CLK 320 w209

Hello All

Is it ok to use E10 fuel in a 2005 CLK 320 w209 ?

TIA
E10 should be fine, but if you’re concerned then stick to E5 which will most likely be Super Unleaded. Some people report a reduction in fuel economy (ie an increase in fuel consumption) when using E10 in which case the cost premium of using Ser Unleaded may be reduced.

Would petrol tanks corrode much faster using shi*ty E10 petrol?

E10 is more deliquescent than E5 due to its greater alcohol content- not an issue for a car in daily use - but not a fuel for a car likely to stand idle for several months on end in a damp environment/climate.

I always have my car in storage during winter time approx 7 months.
I first put a full bottle of Stabil petrol stabilizer then filled the tank full with E10, then let the car idle for a few minutes.
Drove home and parked the car for 7 months.

Before that I also inflated my tires a bit more.

Is it a bad idea using E10 and Stabil fuel stabilizer for winter storage if the tank corrodes?
Did MB use steel tanks or aluminum tanks on 1999 cars?
Any insight on this?

In a 99 Mercedes I would venture almost certainly a mild steel tank. HDPE high-density polyethylene saddlebag type tanks started to come in around the turn of the century.
Using a fuel stabiliser like Stabil is a good idea for cars with E10 laid up over the winter -- is important to MATCH stabiliser concentration to volume of fuel stored to achieve the correct degree of protection.

I bought several Stabil petrol stabilizer bottles before Brexit occured.

Each bottle is 236ml = 8 OZ FL
Treats up to 20 gallons which should be 76L of petrol.
My W202 has a tank of 62L so I poured the full bottle into the tank and filled her up.
Didn't want to mess with the left over what was in the bottle.

Stabil should work well with E10 as it's fuel stabilizer is specifically made for ethanol blended petrols?
It's an American product.
Made in U.S.A. screams quality!
