Evening

Just browsing AT and the web on a lazy Sunday (as you do) and looking at a few year old E class convertibles with the C250CGI 1.8 Petrol engine

Differing MPG and tax bands for the same car in the same (Sport) trim are reported in car specific details on AT, and the MB used website

I haven't found anything conclusive as to why though (no revision etc?)

Anybody able to shed any light on it or debunk the variation

Academic at the moment as I am not changing the CLK, but if anyone can shed light on it, it would be appreciated
And does the 250CGI only come with the 5 speed Auto box?

Cheers

If it's the same engine as the W204 C250CGI, then it would be the 4-Cyilinder 201BHP 1.8L M271 petrol engine fitted with Turbocharger (instead of Supercharger in previous models). On the C-Class it came with the 7-gear transmission. Hope this helps.

MPG affects tax bands in most cases, due to emissions. I am sure I read somewhere on here earlier about wheel size also affecting tax band, as mpg was affected, however small, moving it into another bracket.

Cheers gents, but that's all information I (now) know

I see two ads for basically the same (spec) car, but with interestingly / materially differing MPG and tax (same output and no, I checked, one isn't a diesel....) . They don't have stop start as far as I am aware and tyres are the same.
So is one wrong, or was there a revision (even S/S being added) that I cannot find?

Hunting around at the moment for a brochure on line to look at

If you're looking at something like Autotrader, I'd guess one is simply listed wrong. - Doesn't that generate the expected bands from the information input by the seller?

Without knowing the exact specification and age of the car its difficult. The obvious one is introduction of stop start. There was also a facelift halfway through the models life. The convertible is likely to be a heavier car than the coupe and the rear axle ratio may have been changed to compensate. They may have been lazy and just quoted the coupe MPG for example?
