E280 wont fire all the time

Hi,

new member here wih a quick question.

I have a 1999 E280 and over the last couple of weeks it has developed a bad starting habit. Sometimes the engine turns over but will not fire, other times it will start first time. It only seems to happen when the engine is warm, as I have only experienced whilst warm.

I have bought a crankshaft sensor just incase the heat of the engine is causing greater resistance in the sensor when warm. Does anyone any ideas, and where is the crankshaft sensor??
