E320 cdi sport
I've been looking for a e320 cdi inline6 but found this
Mercedes-Benz E Class E280 CDI Sport 4dr Tip Auto 3.0 Full service history.
Which I thought was quite well priced compared to others I know it's the v6 and 7g box. Just wondering will
1. It have a dpf? The pipes look sooty so hopefully no
2. Real world pace with a 320 be that different
3. Does it look ok or something suspicious with it?
4. Will the mpg be a lot worse than the older i6?
Cheers for any help and sorry if this is the wrong section

That's what I thought but I really like the sport but most are £8k which are out of budget
Evdok is yours for sale and I see your located in Stourport that's where I am as we'll

Near kiddy?:thumb:

That's a well looked after e class you have but I'm looking for one with parktronic and also heated seats sorry

That car is a pre facelift - much better to go with a facelift car if you can and then avoid the horrors of SBC. It's pretty high mileage, so will get problems with that if it hasn't already.

If the tailpipes are sooty, there's no DPF. Very few 211s have them anyway, as it was an additional cost option on ordering.
The 280 is a few bhp down on the 320, but quite fast enough for most.
Looks OK to me, but you need to run a magnifier over it before you buy it.
MPG - I've had a V6 320cdi and currently have an IL6 320cdi and there's not a huge amount of difference in mpg between the two.

Cheers for the help. I rang them up and it sounded good but they had somebody looking today who then bought it so think I'm just gonna try for a 320
Only thing is I always wanted a late i6 for better mpg and 5g box which I've read some people prefer after going to the 7g also that the i6 is bullet proof but didn't want problems with the sbc
Are the sbc that probmatic?
Also is the 320 v6 a lot faster than the i6 and is it a lot mpg down?
Really carnt decide

IMHO, the I6 doesn't give substantially better mpg than the V6, maybe a couple of mpg at best. 5g/7g box - I've had both and found the 7g a lot better in many ways than the 5g, but others have said the opposite. The SBC on my current car is problem free at the moment, but who knows what's round the corner?!!

We'll cheers for the help. I bought a i6 320 today with every option I wanted and more although would of been happy without some. Been very well looked after and in the right colour I wanted. What a car! Drives smooth fast and yet returns reasonable mpg considering wished I bought one sooner been wanting one for a long time:bannana:

Don't forget pic's:thumb:

Pics as soon as weather and time allows :thumb:
Also options I wanted or didn't mind having are electric memory heated seats, command, pano roof,Harmon kardon, full amg kit with wheels and stop start keyless entry. The stuff I didn't want are airmatic suspension pulse/massage contour seats electric boot closing and think that's it. Could be more the car is so kitted I've probably missed something but still perfect
