I recently bought an e320 cdi that was listed as Brabus, and also described as having a brabus chip, is there any way to confirm this? Just curious since in some YouTube videos I've seen chips on these cars that plug into the fuel rail, but it doesn't seem to be the same case here... Does the brabus chip plug in elsewhere or was the ad just misleading?

I'd appreciate any advice,

Kind Regards,

Where did you bring it. ?

Bought or brought

That cars listed as a 320 . 3222 cc . Looks like some chavs stuck brabus d6 badges on init !!..

D6 chip is fitted with alot of wiring to each fuel injector . You cant not see if its fitted.

That looks to be a very high spec W211 - AMG kit too.

The Brabus box should be located (looking towards the front of the car) on the right hand side near the bulkhead and, from memory, there’s 4 or 5 plugs around the top of the engine.

The most common Brabus box was on the V6, the one you’ve bought is the IL6 so it would be quite a rare beast.

Would be nearly as quick as a 55K. If had the chip installed lol. The stock e320 cdi IL6 is a beast as it is. What an engine that is, amazing as stock is the e320 cdi. Made a great decision buying one nearly a year ago now.

Take the engine covers off and have a look or take some pics of it around the fuel rail if not sure. It could have been fitted and hidden well (the box). Or, it could have been remapped and eBay badges stuck on. Worse case scenario is that it just has the badges stuck on!

Thanks for all the replies guys, although I haven't had time to look under the bonnet properly, after a quick look I couldn't really see anything, but one thing I noticed was that the rpm at 70 mph is under 2k, I believe its not the usual case on these e320 cdi i6 engines? Could that suggest anything? Perhaps a remap?

I've got the car booked in with a Mercedes specialist anyway so I can ask him on Wednesday,

The Brabus box is about £1500, so if it has one, you got a bargain!

If it hasn't, the Brabus Badges are pretty pricy too.....

A remap won't affect the overall gearing.

Ah I see, thanks... Well, I should find out for sure tomorrow when I take it to the specialist.

Just incase it doesn't have anything fitted, I've been looking at other options, I came across this chip which seems to have decent gains to apparently 271 bhp and 21% better fuel economy, and also quite well priced, does anyone have any experience with them or know if I should go for one?
Chiptuning Mercedes E 320 CDI 204 hp [150 kw]

Thanks!

21 % better economy. Thats the selling point right there. Save up for a proper remap. These chips are simply fooling other chips.
