E350 CAB FROM MERCLAND

My E350 which replaces my totalled CLS55 was delivered on Monday. Having now had time to familiarise myself and probe into hidden corners, I have to say I'm really pleased with the car and the whole purchase process. Tony Knight looked after me for test drives and just let the car sell itself. But he was very knowledgeable and answered all my questions. The preparation and admin were fine so the whole deal was wrapped up easily.
I thought Jay and his team at Mercland deserve a public positive review.

Congrats did you not fancy another old school amg?

Looks lovely.

I'd just check it's had a gearbox service or two. There is no mention of it is the service history, and around 2018, I wouldn't have confidence that 1st stop/Pete's engineering/Halfords knew exactly what they were doing.
I note on the add it says it "Comes Fully Inspected & Serviced By Us".

Gearbox service due at 75k miles, or 5 years, whichever is sooner. The boxes need the service.
So it should have had a full gearbox fluid change in Sept 2018, and another in Sept 2023. I'm assuming Mercland had it then, or acquired it shortly thereafter.

I would look into what firm evidence you have of the last gearbox service. Either an invoice that sets it out clearly within the past 5 years, or an entry on the Mercedes electronic service record within thr past 5 years.

If it doesn't have these things, you will need to get the gearbox serviced.

Bought an ML from Mercland about 4 years ago, it was very good and totally reliable.
Also sold it back to them about 12 months later when I downsized to the SLK, very happy with both deals

Absolutely agree about the gearbox service , keeps them running smoothly

Egg and grandmother situation?

FTFY

You’re welcome. 😁

Thank you all for the kind words. Hope everyone is keeping well.

The fire was caused by a C Class W204 front sam we believe.
Although it felt like the end of world at the time, our fantastic team kept us going and having workshop facilities at other sites really helped.
We never really closed and we did a lot of the graft ourselves to avoid any downtime.
This was no mean feat with no light or heating in the cold dark winter months.

If anyone wants to know how to wire network cable ends, i can do it with frozen hands and my eyes closed now.

We have come out the other side stronger than ever and glad to say that is now a memory. The insurance have only just repaid our outlay, so Im sure the business owners on here will understand when i say it was a tough few months.

Google reviews are the bane of my life. We sell 100+ cars a month so unfortunately, there will be some issues now and then.... We do our best!

As many of you know, Mercland is mine and my family's whole life.... We give it our all, and then some.

We have had a busy year and am proud to announce that we have been nominated for a couple of awards at the Used Car Awards this year.

We don't expect to win with some of the big boys as competition, but its nice to be recognised.

Thanks again, and hope to catch up with friends soon.

Jay
